#Introduction

Hi guys, It’s been around five months learning coding intensively in Masai School, and the journey is getting exciting day by day. I have joined in October 2021 and will be graduating in May 2022.

Today I want to share my experience in this school. Willing to share how it helped me to change my mindset, learning patterns, perspective about the traditional education system, and how It made me a future-ready programmer.

What is Masai School?

The first and foremost thing that you would ask is what is the Masai School, man?

Masai School is a revolution in the education of India. It provides a very intensive coding curriculum based on a military-type schedule. Where one needs to follow the 9–9–6 schedule Mon to Sat. It provides a very practical curriculum where you will get 1000+ coding hours after completion of 7 months program.

if you want to know more, you can watch this Ted talk by the founder of Masai School.

Why I have joined?

Ugh.. that’s a long story but I’ll tell you in a brief that, after the failures of two startups I got to know that I enjoy building tech products and have a keen interest in technology itself.

I was looking to join some institute so I can learn and work on some practical projects as well. But I could not find any in my city which satisfy my needs. Eventually, I came across Masai School.

I researched about the school across all the social platforms, one thing that intrigued me is they are providing military-type culture and practical curriculum. One more thing that hit me hard is

So after getting good reviews, Masai is checking off all my boxes.
I have applied in Sep 2021, started my journey in Oct 2021.

How a normal day in Masai looks like?

Normal Masai day starts sharp at 9 am with the morning scrum where CTO Nrupul Dev shares the day’s schedule and overview about the topics that we are going to learn. Co-founder Yogesh Bhat shares different ideologies and motivations which helps a lot in terms of absorbing the frustration, forming a mindset, and keeping ourselves positive all the time.

Then we learn DSA where each professor is providing the best fundamentals about the different concepts. Then after Masai is also taking care of students in terms of communication, team management, interpersonal skills, or else you can say all the life skills that can help a student to grow faster after joining any company.

In the noon, we will have a coding class where the instructor is strictly following on I-We-You model where first they explain the concept/topic by doing it himself. Then we need to do the same thing in the class itself so we can assure that did we get the concept or not. If not then we can resolve our doubts in the session itself.

Then we need to complete the assignments each day which always pushes us to achieve output by applying the learnings.

Each day we face a lot of challenges, and only because of that, we learn things faster rather than any traditional colleges or institute.

Before joining I did not know anything about what is JS, NodeJS or MongoDB, or React. But now I have built two Big clones like BigBasket and SteveMadden using these tech stacks.

It has been a roller-coaster ride mentally and emotionally. One needs to be strong and faithful to Masai because they are providing all the required support you might need during the course.

Bloom’s Taxonomy

Okay okay, I don't think that you know this but first, see the below image.

Masai school has researched a lot about education, teaching, and learning. They know how to teach in a way that you can get the best out of the curriculum each day, week, and month.

First, they focus on sharing the conceptual theory, then the instructor will explain the same in a practical way in a live session, then you need to apply the same concept each day.

You might have to reuse the concept in further assignments so you will get to know more by analyzing differently after implementing. Each week you will have to sit in the evaluation where you have to build some things or apply all the required logic. With the help of that Masai and you will get grades so you both can understand how you are doing this week.

Each month you will be divided into teams where you need to collaborate and create an assigned website with the help of your current knowledge and skills.

You will have to follow all the protocols in each unit/month. You need to trust the system of learning of Masai. Eventually, you will hit the top of the triangle.

Importance of hybrid education

In India, if you complete your engineering from any random college you might have to face a low-salary job or unemployability. Nowadays even all the graduates are doing some random jobs which are not even related to their respective fields. Why is that so?

Because even if you complete your degree, you still don't have enough latest knowledge or skills that the employer wants. And our traditional process of learning and curriculum always needs more time to update. But now because of the data influence, everything is changing faster than we think. We need to catch the pace and change ourselves according to the current need. That’s where Masai School comes into the picture.

Masai school has a very large team that designs and updates the curriculum as per the current needs of employers or future. They always take feedback each week and month, they read and implement ASAP. Whereas traditional colleges need more time to think and change because of certain restrictions.

So, hybrid education will take a leap in India. It will provide more skills than any other designer college or school.

Conclusion

If you feel that you want to learn code and willing to develop your skills ASAP then Masai School is the place where you might get your desired job or position. Masai school is the place where one needs to follow certain things like 90% attendance, 80% assignments, and cross a certain threshold of evaluations.

Now, I have more than 1200+ hours of hands-on coding experience, 100+ hours of soft skill training. I led the two team projects like
